Violinist Ioan Harea celebrates 60 years of life, 55 years of playing the violin and 25 years of performing in Ottawa with a concert featuring highlights of his career. Ioan will perform alone and accompanied by piano, as well as together with The Harea String Quartet, The Virtuosi Orchestra and “Alegria” in repertoire ranging from Bach to Gypsy and jazz.
Ioan will be performing with old friends and colleagues from Canada, the United States, Venezuela and Europe in this unique concert experience.
The concert will be followed by a wine and cake reception.

Ioan Harea performs selections from his soon to be recorded CD "Alegría". You have heard Ioan Harea perform baroque, classical, romantic and gypsy. You have heard Ioan Harea perform alone, with piano, string quartet and with orchestra. In "Alegría", experience Ioan Harea playing Latin in a jazz style, together with guitarist Andrew Mah and bassist Paul Mach. Savour the music of Simon Diaz, Zequinha de Abreu, Astor Piazzolla, Chick Corea and Django Reinhardt (to name a few) performed in the inimitable style of Ioan Harea.
