In 1981 IOAN HAREA made his solo debut with this same With Orchestra, playing Mozart's D+ Concerto.
This led to repeat engagements with performances of concertos by Beethoven, Vieuxtemps, Sibelius and Paganini; as well as Tzigane by Ravel, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens, Carmen Fantasy of Sarasate and Waxman, and Poème by Chausson. |

| A citizen of Canada, Venezuela and Romania, IOAN HAREA presently resides in Ottawa, Canada where he works as a soloist, concertmaster, studio musician and teacher. He is the founder and leader of the HAREA STRING QUARTET and THE VIRTUOSI With Orchestra. He is on the faculty of the Crane School of Music, State University of New York in Potsdam, New York. |

| In March 2000 IOAN HAREA traveled to Romania, under the auspices of the Canadian Embassy in Bucharest. He performed the Beethoven Concerto with the Ploiesti Philharmonic, Ravel Tzigane and Sarasate Ziguenerweisen with the Craiova Philharmonic, as well as giving a recital in Bucharest, which was recorded by Romanian National Radio. |

| Since December 2000 IOAN HAREA has led The Virtuosi With Orchestra in over 20 performances in the presence of the Prime Minister of Canada and visiting dignitaries, most notably for Prime Minister Paul Martin and US President George W Bush in November 2004. |

He toured in France as guest artist with The Trio Chaudiere, as well as performing with The Nice Philharmonic. He also gave 3 performances of "CLASSIC GYPSY" to sold out audiences for Hill and Hollow Music in Plattsburgh, New York. |

| In 2004 IOAN HAREA toured again in France with The Trio Chaudiere and in Spain with the string quintet Squerzo. Both of these tours led to repeat engagements scheduled for 2005. |
