| Le Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau invites bassoonists of all ages and abilities to the first ever GATINEAU BASSOON FEST! Workshops, master classes and performances by some of Canada's foremost bassoonists will take place throughout the day on Saturday November 18 2006 from 9 am to 6 pm at the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau, located at 430, boul. Alexandre-Taché in Gatineau (secteur Hull). |

| There will be reed making workshops led by Gerald Corey, retired principal bassoon of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, workshops on caring for your bassoon by Shane Wieler of Marcus-Wieler Bassoons, master classes led by Mathieu Harel, associate principal bassoon of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and bassoon professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. |
| There will be exhibits from The Leading Note, composer Dr. Maya Badian, Paul Buttemer Bassoon Reed Products and Yamaha Canada. |
| THE GATINEAU BASSOON FEST will conclude with a recital of performances on both the German and the French system bassoons featuring bassoonists Mathieu Harel, Gerald Corey and Jo Ann Simpson. The day will culminate in a performance of LE GRAND ENSEMBLE DU BASSON in which all participants are encouraged to take part. |
